How to get to Heaven
Trying to fill the void. Something that many set out to live their lives to do, yet they are never able to fully fill the void that is in their life. You may look to find power, honor, or some way to feel better than the way that you are living. So you try to find some meaningless and hopeless avenue to fill the road of emptiness you are on. Jeremiah 18:4 “marred in the hand of the potter” is how you may feel. You have made mistake after mistake and it seems like your life is in complete shambles. You may ask the question, “Will I ever be able to find a sense of satisfaction?” I have news for you—you will not find this satisfaction in the world.
Mankind cannot fill this void that is naturally there. Psalm 51:5 “Behold I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” You cannot find satisfaction in this world because of one simple fact. You are a sinner. You go to things this world has to offer because your sin never satisfies. God’s word states that “sin is only pleasurable for a season” and as sin it may satisfy for a small amount of time. You must find something different to bring pleasure and fulfillment because IT JUST ISN’T ENOUGH! Romans 3:23 states “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Sin is described in I John 3:4 as “the transgression of the law.” Sin is the breaking of God’s law. Because we are sinners we fall short of meeting God’s standard of holiness. We cannot go to heaven in our sin because God cannot allow sin into heaven because of His holiness. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore as by one man’s sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” THERE IS NO EXEMPTION.
Your sin must be punished.
Sin is a violation of God’s law. He hates sin and will punish your sin. Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death;” the price you must pay for your sin is death. This death is referring to the separation from God in Hell. The punishment that you will get if you choose to die in your sin is that you will go to this awful place called hell for all eternity. Hell will be a place that you will be alone, burning yet not being consumed, gnashing of teeth, a cry for mercy, and torment that we find is described in Luke 16. SIN WILL BE PUNISHED.
Your emptiness and searching can be answered by one gift that is offered to all of mankind.
You are hopeless and empty without Jesus Christ filling that void in your life. He provides satisfaction like none other. He provides a way of escape from hell. Romans 6:23 “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR THE EMPTINESS IN YOUR LIFE. Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God’s love is so vast and unmeasurable that He saw you in your sinful state and He sent His son whose name is JESUS. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Even though we are sinners, Christ died for us to redeem us back to God. The greatest demonstration of love was towards you and that love was directed toward you!
The only way to be saved from your sin is realizing that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for your sins.
To declare you righteous in the eyes of God, He died and rose again conquering sin, death, hell, and the grave to give you the GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE. It must be accepted by faith in complete dependence on Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross, nothing more and nothing less. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” The only way to fill the void in your life is not by what you can do, but it is by what Jesus DID on the cross for you that day. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Jesus is the way, Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
The way to fill the emptiness is by calling on the Lord to save you from your sin.
You must realize and confess that you are a sinner before God. You must call on Him in full faith and God promises that immediately you will be cleansed from your sin and given a home in heaven.
In Luke 18:13 a sinner prayed the following simple prayer because he realized he was unable to go to heaven on his own: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Just pray: God I know that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive me of my sins. He died on the cross, was buried, and rose again for me. Please save me from my sin, and give me a home in heaven. Amen.
There is no greater joy than to know Jesus has filled the void in your life.
John 10:28-29 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” Once you are saved it is forever. You can never lose your salvation and not even the devil himself can take your salvation from you. Jesus has saved you from your sin and it is forever.
